But will this work for MY niche?

Conversion Minded

Hey cho!

Last week we asked you to send us your "tricky niches." And wow, a lot of you feel like coming up with blog topics is harder than it should be.

Inside Smart Business Blogging, that's just one of the things that changes.

Here's the thing about tricky niches (and by the way, it's the same for easy niches):

Before somebody becomes a customer, they need help making that decision.

What's really holding them back isn't a lack of tips and how-to information, it's what they believe about:

👉 What works
👉 What won't
👉 What's safe to try
👉 Whether this is right for them

Instead of starting with "what should I teach?" you start with "what does someone need to believe right before they say yes?" and then you build the content that takes them there.

Here are some examples that should clear it up for you:

Imagine you're a bookkeeper and you help small business owners get their finances under control. Typical content looks like:

↳ Questions to ask before hiring a bookkeeper
↳ How to choose the right bookkeeper for your business
↳ What to look for when hiring a bookkeeper

This content is great, but it doesn't reach the person who is quietly convinced that hiring someone is a luxury she can't justify yet.

A false belief that’s blocking them?

"I can't afford a bookkeeper until my business is making more money."

Belief-shifting content looks like this:

Post 1: Show them the real problem

  • Why managing your own books is costing you more than a bookkeeper would
  • Now they're thinking: If doing this myself isn’t actually saving money, how could hiring a bookkeeper cost less in the long run?

Post 2: Introduce the better way

  • Why hiring a bookkeeper can actually save your business money
  • Now they're thinking: So hiring help could save money. But what does a bookkeeper actually do that creates those savings?

Post 3: Validate the better way

  • What a bookkeeper actually does for a small business
  • Now they're thinking: That's way more helpful than I thought. What is it actually like to work with one?

Post 4: Guide them to the right decision

  • What it’s like to hand your bookkeeping over to someone you trust
  • Now they're thinking: I'm done doing this on my own. I'm ready to hire a bookkeeper.

Post 5: A Pillar Post that ties them all together

  • Why hiring a bookkeeper sooner is one of the best financial decisions a small business owner can make
  • Now you're: Shifting their beliefs about what is possible, all while sending strong signals to Google & Ai that you are an authority on this topic.
  • By the time someone’s finished reading, they haven’t been sold to – they changed their own mind, and your offer is the logical next step.
